English Vert a bend sinister wavy argent between an ear or and a scroll or.

Origin/meaning

The arms were officially granted on January 30, 1969.


The bend sinister wavy symbolises the Ems river, the Ems-Seitenkanal and the Küstenkanal, who pass the municipality. The ear stands for agriculture and the the sroll for the important paper industry in the area.
