Origin/meaning

The arms show the local patron saint, St. Peter, holding a key as his symbol. The image already appeared from the oldest known seal of the village (known since 1350). Only in the 19^th century two crossed keys were also used as arms, as a symbol for St. Peter. The municipality however continues the use of St. Peter.
