Origin/meaning

The arms were proposed by the State Archives in 1903 and adopted in the same year.

Epfenhofen was a possession of the Lords of Klingenberg and from 1488 onward of the Teutonic Order. This is reflecte din the arms by using the cross of the order and on an inescutcheon the crest of the Lords of Klingenberg.
