Origin/meaning

The arms were granted on October 16, 1926.

The arms show two heraldic dolphins. The dolphins are already used on the seals of the local council since the 16^th century. They are derived from the older arms of the local abbey, founded in 1126. The origin of the dolphins, however, is not known.
