Origin/meaning
The arms were granted on February 26, 1845.
The arms are identical to the arms of Jean-Xavier Goos, with the exception that the colour of the field is silver instead of gold. The Goos family were the last Lords of Gijzegem who acquired the village in 1733 and remained in possession of the village until 1789.
