Origin/meaning
The arms were officially adopted on December 11, 2020.
The wheatears recall the agricultural character of the village. The silver crowned cross symbolizes the parish church of Saint-Etienne St. Stephan), the three balls recalling the stoning of the saint.
The crowned lion's head underlines that the village originally depended on the county of Luxembourg and the provost of Ligny, which is illustrated by the thistle .
The azure and gold as well as the violets recall that Gimécourt passed to the provost of Bar by a treaty of 1734.
