Gondelsheim
GONDELSHEIM
State : Baden-Württemberg
District (Kreis) : Karlsruhe (until 1972 Bruchsal)
German | In Rot auf grünem Schildfuß eine goldene Garbe. |
English | blazon wanted |
Origin/meaning
Gondelsheim had its own local council already in 1387, but there was no council seal or arms. The village often changed hands; it belonged to many different families until 1761, when it became a part of Baden. Since 1761 the local council used the arms of Baden on its seal. This lasted until 1812 when the council used a seal with a garb as its arms. The garb is probably taken as a symbol of the agriculture, the main source of income in the village. The arms were granted in 1910 and were based on this seal.
