English | blazon wanted |
Origin/meaning
The arms were designed in 1959 as no older arms or seals were known.
The bear symbolises the fact that near the village the last alpine bear was shot around 1800. The fleur-de-lis is taken from the arms of the Von Hammersbach family, who lived in the municipality for centuries. The symbol is known from the arms of the family since the 15th century.
Literature: Stadler, 1964-1971, 8 volumes.
