Dutch	(1951) Gevierendeeld: 1 en 4 van sabel met een gouden leeuw genageld en getongd van keel; 2 en 3 van zilver met een leeuw van keel, de staart gespleten, geknobbeld en schuinkruisgewijs geplaatst, genageld, getongd en gekroond van goud. Het schild geplaatst op een uitgerukte boom in natuurlijke kleur, waarvan de stam zich splitst in drie dichtbebladerde takken. (1993) Gevierendeeld 1. en 4. in sabel een leeuw van goud, geklauwd en getongd van keel 2. en 3. in zilver een dubbelstaartige leeuw van keel, geklauwd, getongd en gekroond van goud. Het schild geplaatst voor een uitgerukte boom met drie gebladerde takken van natuurlijke kleur.

Origin/meaning

The arms were granted on October 15, 1951 and again on March 1, 1993.

The arms are the arms of the Counts of Brabant-Limburg, combining the golden lion of Brabant with the red lion of Limburg. The local council already used these arms on its seal from 1337, where the shield was shown hanging from a tree.

In 1993 the arms were not changed, only the blazoning was adjusted.
