Crest: Three pomegranates Or seeded Gules.

Other language blazon

Spanish: Escudo: De veros, una banda de gules engolada por dragantes de oro cargada con una escala de oro.

Origin/meaning

The arms are inspired by a coat of arms found in the Enciclopedia Heráldica y Genealógica Hispano-Americana by García-Carrafa, attributed to the Moya family. That original coat of arms included marks of cadency: Vair, a bend Gules charged with a ladder Or. The armiger is a direct descendant of this line and based their design on that precedent, incorporating two dragantes engouling the bend in reference to the arms of the Tovar family, from whom they also descend. The crest alludes directly to the historical name of Colombia during the Spanish colonial period: the Kingdom of Nueva Granada.
