Official blazon
Irish blazon wanted
English Azure two flaunches vert fimbriated argent, in the dexter a cross botonny and in the sinister an annulet rayonné or, in base an anchor with cable paleways of the third, and the Motto Ciall agus Neart.

Origin/meaning

The arms were officially granted on September 8, 1982.

In the design of the arms the following themes are taken into account - geographical location of Kilrush, the church by the wood symbolised by the old style cross botonny and the circle of fire to signify the ESB generating station at Moneypoint. The motto is Ciall agus Neart - resolve and fortitude.
