Origin/meaning

The arms were officially granted on September 11, 1992.

The wolf in the chief is a canting element. The old name of the village was Langenwolffersdorf (which can be translated as long-wolf-village). The division line shows a series of gables, indicating that the village is a typical one-street village. The linden tree symbolises the century-old local linden tree. The tree was originally planted in 1650.

The colours of the wolf are those of the Princes of Reuss, who ruled the area for centuries. The green colour symbolises the agricultural character of the village.
