Origin/meaning

The arms were designed and adopted in 1988.

The thistle is the symbol of the Lorraine region, compare also Nancy, in which the village is situated. The T-cross symbolises the Abbey of Toul, to which the village historically belonged. The fleur-de-lis is the symbol of France, and symbolises the fact that the village became French in 1559. The lion in the base is the symbol of the Pommery family, Lords of Maizières in the 19^th century. The meaning of the chevron, I do not know.
