Origin/meaning
The cross estrée overall stands for Latin Fides, that is, "faith" (from below to the top) but also "loyalty" (to the armiger's sides). The tinctures show the narrow and hard path of abnegation and honesty (Sable) with their eventual underlying reward (fimbriated Or). The cross fleury represents a preheraldic symbol of the armiger and Jesus as a model for life. John 14:6: "I am the way [the crosslets, cardinal points], the truth [Argent] and the life [the jewel]". The wolf is an Iberian, Roman and Mars symbol and a reference to his family on both sides: the paternal side, for the ancient family sobriquet of "The Wolf", and the maternal side, as a canting reference. Chasing the star it seeks knowledge and transcendence. The eagle represents freedom and is also a nod to Saint John for the many in the agnatic line. Also, rises high from below, guarding the love it bears, like the armiger's family. Finally, azure is the Mediterranean sea, gules is the preeminence of Love and, together, the colours of the armiger's city. In the crest, the intact hand among flames refers to Romans 8:31: "If God is with us, who can be against us?". Also invokes a fair attitude before conflicts and the martyrdom of Saint Marius, for the warcry and as a canting reference.
