Origin/meaning
These arms were officially granted on July 26, 1988.
The imposing castle of Miravet, on a rock by the river Ebro, was conquered to the Muslims in 1153 by the count-king Ramon Berenguer IV, who gave it to the Templar knights, which made it the centre of the command of Miravet. The arms show the local castle on the Ebro, and the cross of the Templars.
