Origin/meaning
The arms of this municipality, formed in 1970 with the previous ones of Montellà de Cadí and Víllec i Estana, are compound: they show the local castle of Montellà, that belonged to the bishops of Urgell, and the canting sign of Martinet (literally a drop hammer in Catalan).
