Origin/meaning

The arms above have not been granted, but were proposed in 1956 and used by the municipality.

The arms show three linden trees, which may be a canting element (for 'hain'), but they may also represent the area of the village called the 'three linden'. On the other hand, the are amy be named after the arms. The oldest use of three plants dates from a border stome from 1725. The oldest seal dates from 1581 and shows the lion of the Pfalz and the diamonds of Bayern; the village at the time belonged to the Pfalz. Even though the village became part of the State of Mainz in 1650, the seal was used until 1796. The colours of the arms were derived from the arms of the Pfalz.
