Origin/meaning
The chestnut tree in the first quarter is a canting element for Chatenoy (a chestnut tree is a châtaignier). The second quarter shows Saint Christopher, the patron saint of the parish.
The anchor symbolizes the canal from the Marne to the Saône which crosses the municipality. The Gallo-Roman villa in the fourth quarter refers to the numerous Gallo-Roman remains found in the area, and in particular the remains of a villa.
