Norwegian | blazon wanted |
English | blazon wanted |
Origin/meaning
The Griffin alludes to the Coat of Arms of the Bjarkøy Family, which was influential in the area during Medival times. The Division of the Field symbolises the 1960 ammalgamation of the Nord-Hålogaland Infantry Regiment No 15 and Troms Infantry Regiment No 16 to form Troms- and Nord-Hålogaland Infantry Regiment No 16. The Colours Black and Yellow are taken from the Colours of the two Regiments. The NHLF and the Regiment are now disbanded.
