Russian	Щит дважды понижено и во главе пересечён; в верхней лазоревой части возникающий червлёный шар, широко окаймлённый золотом; поверх края каймы - серебряная чайка, летящая вправо, с воздетыми крыльями; средняя часть зелёная; в нижней чёрной части - 12 пониженных чёрных волн, завершённых серебром, попарно разбегающихся с высокой и низкой волной в каждой паре; поверх всего - золотая приставная лестница о четырёх ступенях, поставленная на чёрной оконечности и упирающаяся верхним концом в край червлёного диска.

Origin/meaning

The arms were granted on January 30, 2003.

The arms show an oil rig for the oil found in the region. The seagull refers to the coastal area, the sun to the Eastern part of the country. The base shows a folk ornament of the Nivkhs - one of the Russian nationalities.

The arms are based on a design for the city of Okha from 1993, see there.
