Un scut albastru, încărcat cu doi lei de aur, cu limba roșie, care susțin un stejar dezrădăcinat, de argint. Totul este așezat pe o eșarfă roșie pe care sunt înscrise inițialele M.V.V. Scutul este timbrat de o coroană murală de argint, formată din șapte turnuri crenelate.

Origin/meaning

The arms were officially granted on September 30, 1998.

The arms are based on the seal of Mihai Viteazul as lord of the three Romanian countries, and recall the fact that this voivode founded the city.

The initials MVV represent the abbreviation of the name Mihai Viteazul-Voievod.
