Origin/meaning

Two double-headed eagles stand for medieval Serbian state, while two crowns remind of the "double coronation" of King Tvrtko I of Serbia and Bosnia, performed in the Milesheva Monastery.

The wavy cotised pall alludes to Ibar River and two small affluent rivers, while the silver bar symbolises the important transversal road connecting East and West of the Balkan Peninsula.

The two angel supporters are derived from a fresco in the Milesheva Monastery.

The compartment shows a golden Mount, alluding to the Zlatar mountain (the name means "Golden one"), with a corner stone impressed with seal of St. Sava,. Patron of Serbia, once buried at Milesheva Monastery.

The banners are the flag of Serbia and of the city.
