Origin/meaning
This arms features two rivers; the Kura and Araz. These two rivers meet near Qalaqayın. The fortress between the two rivers was the center of the historical Mughan district, the fortress city of Javad khanate. The name of the village is also taken from the word castle.
Cotton, wheat, watermelon and grapes depicted in the coat of arms are the main crops grown in Qalaqayın and cultivated by the population.
