Origin/meaning
The arms were officially granted on March 2, 2001.
Queluz and Massamá were both already settled during the Moorish occupation of Portugal. The two crescents refer to this. The name Queluz is derived from Valley of Almonds in Arabic, which is symbolised by the almond tree.
The parish is famous for its royal palace, hence the three Royal shields in the chief. The base refers to the many waters and streams in the parish.
