Origin/meaning
The arms were officially granted on March 27, 1618 by Margrave Joachim Ernst von Brandenburg-Ansbach.
The arms were in use until November 6, 1857, when the arms were re-granted by King Maximilian II. At that time the angel was omitted and a red colour in base was added. The arms are the arms of the Hohenzollern family (background) and a rye sheaf as a canting symbol (Roggen).
Currently the municipality uses the historical arms again.
