Origin/meaning

The arms were granted in 1957.

The eagle heads are taken from the old 18^th century seal of the village, which shoed the imperial eagle. Rendel belonged to the imperial estate of Friedberg. The rose was added as a symbol for St. Mary, patron saint of the village.

In 1955 slightly different arms were adopted by the council:

These arms show instead of the rose a stick. This was a symbol of justice, for the Freigericht (court) of Kaichen. As the court was not limited to Rendel, the symbol was not considered appropriate and was replaced by a rose.
