Origin/meaning

The arms were officially granted on May 26, 2025.

The green shield is a reference to the fact that the territory of the parish is located in the old "saloia" zone that supplied the city of Lisbon with fresh produce from its farms and fields of cultivation. The plum branch also refers to this, but was also a canting element for the former parish of Ameixoeira.

The mulberry branch is a reference to the mulberry tree in the arms of the former parish of Charneca.

The division line is a reference to the Fort of Ameixoeira, which integrates the first line of land defense, and to the Circumvalation wall, of which some traces are still visible next to the Carriche Calçada, as well as the boundaries of the City of Lisbon.

The rope or cord is one of the attributes of St. Clare of Assisi after whom the parish is named.
