Origin/meaning

The arms were adopted on September 24, 1982.

The arms show in the chief the cross of the Knights Templar, who received the area in 1149.

The lower half shows the arms of two families who had their estates in the area; the arms of Jean-Jacques Mithon and the arms of the bernadotte family.
