Origin/meaning

The arms were officially granted on September 11, 2003.

The lion refers to the Greiz district and the silver and red colours refer to Thüringen. The scythe refers to the Thirty Years War and the farmers that tried to protect their villages from the Imperial troops. Over 100 young farmers from the village were killed. The miner's tools refer to the former importance of uranium mining to the village.
