Origin/meaning

The arms were granted on September 10, 1993.

The crosier is a symbol for the nearly 1000 years that the area belonged to the Prüm abbey.

The bends are derived from the arms of the 15^th century Von Orwich family, who lived in the village. The old name of the village was Orwich or Urwich.
