Origin/meaning

The arms were granted on April 9, 1968.

The arms are based on the 19^th century seal of the village, which showed the horseshoe. It probably is a generic symbol for agriculture. Before the seals also had included symbols for pottery, important from the 16th until the 18^th century, but no longer in the 19th. Hence the change to a horseshoe. In 1956 the arms below were proposed (already designed in 1939), using symbolism for pottery, but never adopted by the council:

In the new arms of Friedrichsdorf the horseshoe is added as the symbol for Seulberg.
