English | blazon wanted |
Origin/meaning
The arms were officially granted on January 7, 1936.
The arms are based on the oldest known seal of the village, dating from the 18th century. The bar is taken from the arms of the Counts of Sponheim, as the village belonged to the Sponheim County for a long time. The crown probably refers to the fact that the counts had a seat in the German Reichstag (parliament) until the late 18th century.
