The water bouget refers to the necessity of Water for sustaining life and also to Molly Pitcher and her devotion in the Battle of Monmouth for wich the Fort is named. The cross respresent the Activity and is symbolis of assistance. The flash refers to the Army Electsonic Commando and symbolises quick and efficient service.
 
The Design was approved on December 16, 1969.
