Origin/meaning

The Eagle symbolises the French Eagle captured by the Regiment's predecessor the Royal Scots Greys at the Battle of Waterloo 1815. The Carbines allude to the 3rd Carabiniers (Prince of Wales's Dragoon Guards). The Two Regiments was amlagamated to form the present Regiment in 1971.
