The arms were officially granted on ?
The arms show a canting Tamarisk (Tamarix africana, Tramagal in Portuguese) and an olive branch. The latter refers to agriculture and cultivation of olive trees for olive oil. The cogwheel refers to the industry in the parish. The wavy base refers to the Tagus river.
