Origin/meaning

The arms of Amt Wilnsdorf were granted on August 17, 1937.

The arms show in the base the arms of the Kolbe von Wilnsdorf family, who played a major role in the local history.

Their arms are known from 13^th century seals. The lion in the upper part of the new arms is the lion of Nassau, as the area belonged to the County Nassau-Siegen. The lion of Nassau is also part of all the Ämter is the (former) district Siegen.
