English Shield: Per fess Azure (Teal Blue) and Argent, in chief between two lightning flashes a phoenix rising from flames of fire Gules fimbriated of the second, and in base a sword fesswise all counterchanged.

Crest: None.
Motto: Dicite andiamus.

Distinctive Unit Insignia, description: a silver color metal and enamel device 1 5/32 inches (2.94) in height overall consisting of a shield blazoned:Per fess Azure (Teal Blue) and Argent, in chief between two lightning flashes a phoenix rising from flames of fire Gules fimbriated of the second, and in base a sword fesswise all counterchanged. Attached below and to the sides of the shield a Silver scroll inscribed "DICITE ANDIAMUS" in Black letters.

Origin/meaning

The shield is teal blue and white the colours used for units not assigned to branch, The Phoenix is an symbol of indestructibility. The Lighnting Flashes symbolise electrical communications. The sword represents the agressive activites of a security unit. The Motto translates as "You speak, we listen".

The Coat of Arms and Distinctive Unit Insingia where approved on 28 September 1956 for the 31st Comunication Reconnaissance Battalion. They where redesignated for the 311th Army Security Agency Battalion on 18 February 1957. They where rescinded on 12 July 1976.
