333rd Fighter Squadron, US Air Force
History: Constituted 333 Fighter-Day Squadron on 13 November 1957. Activated on 8 December 1957. Redesignated:333 Tactical Fighter Squadron on 1 July 1958; 333 Tactical Fighter Training Squadron on 22 March 1971. Inactivated on 15 February 1991. Redesignated 333 Fighter Squadron, and activated, on 1 November 1991.
Operations: Combat in Southeast Asia, 12 December 1965-c. 6 October 1970. Not operational, 15 October 1970-31 July 1971. Between August 1971-February 1991 trained in tactical fighter attack aircraft to achieve capability to deploy worldwide; supported tactical aviation roles of counterair, interdiction and close air support. Beginning in November 1991 trained replacement pilots and weapons systems officers to sustain worldwide fighter aircraft manning. Trained F-15 Strike Eagle aircrews, October 1994-
