Shield:Brick red is the color used for the Transportation Corps and buff alludes to the 49th Quartermaster Truck Regiment from which the unit is descended. The Quartermaster truck indicates the trucks’ ability to perform allotted duties at all four points of the compass. The color red is added for design and denotes the martial prowess of the organization. The motto is expressive of the continuous service rendered. Crest:Brick red and golden yellow are the colors traditionally associated with Transportation units. The tower denotes the unit’s campaign participation in Central Europe. The fleur-de-lis refers to the campaign in Northern France. The scimitars represent the Meritorious Unit Commendations awarded to the unit for service in Southwest Asia.

The Arms were originally approved for the 49th Quartermaster Truck Regiment on 27 January 1943. It was redesignated for the 49th Quartermaster Battalion on 15 April 1944. On 1 November 1962 the Coat of Arms was rescinded. It was reinstated, redesignated and amended, to include a crest, for the 49th Transportation Battalion. The Insignia was redesignated and amended to change the blazon and symbolism for the 49th Transportation Center on 31 January 1968.
