Origin/meaning
The White Star on the blue background was taken from the Coat of Arms of Massachusetts asnd represents the location of the Battalion. The Star is also a symbol of achievement and authority. The Bar and green field symbolises the protection and security offered by the police unit. The six sides of the hexagon, the eight sides of the octagon, and the five poits of the Star all allude to the nummerical designation of the 685th Military Police Battalion.
