History: 88 Airdrome Squadron (constituted on 17 Feb 1943; activated on 1 Mar 1943; inactivated on 30 Nov 1945; disbanded on 8 Oct 1948; reconstituted on 16 Sep 1994) and the 88 Operations Squadron (Depot) (constituted as 88 Communications Squadron, Depot on 16 May 1949; activated in the reserve on 27 Jun 1949; ordered to active duty on 1 May 1951; inactivated on 16 May 1951; redesignated as 88 Operations Squadron, Depot, on 10 Oct 1952; activated in the reserve on 20 Nov 1952; redesignated as 88 Operations Squadron (Depot) on 12 Nov 1954; inactivated on 8 Oct 1956; disbanded on 15 Jun 1983; reconstituted on 16 Sep 1994) consolidated (16 Sep 1994) with the 654 Operations Support Squadron (constituted on 1 Aug 1993; activated on 1 Oct 1993). Redesignated as 88 Operations Support Squadron on 1 Oct 1994.
