97th Infantry Division The Trident Division, US Army
History: Activated 5 Septemebr 1918 as 97th Division. Organized 26 September 1918 at Camp Cody (New Mexico). Inactivated 22 December 1918 at the same location. Assigned 24 June 1921 to the Organized Reserve. Organized in December 1921 in Manchester, New Hampshire. Activated 25 february 1943, reroganized at Camp Swift (Texas) and re-designated 97th Infantry Division. Inactivated 31 March 1946 in Japan. The Shoulder Sleeve Insignia was allowd to be used by the 97th Army Reserve Command. This Command was inactivated in 1996. Years later the Division was reactivated as 97th Training Brigade.
