Inactivated on 16 Jun 1952. Redesignated as 97 Combat Defense Squadron on 22 Apr 1959. Activated on 1 Jul 1959. Redesignated as 97 Security Police on 2 Jul 1967. Inactivated on 1 Jul 1992. Activated on 1 Oct 1992. Redesignated as 97 Security Forces Squadron on 1 Jul 1997.
