Origin/meaning
The arms were granted on June 24, 1936.
The chequered chief is derived from the arms of the Counts of the Mark, as the area was part of the Mark region. The trefoil is taken from the arms of the Lords of Volmarstein, who had their castle in the village since the 12th century.
