Origin/meaning

The arms were officially adopted in 1905.

The village was its own lordship until 1796. The village was ruled by a number of families, who used their own seals on official documents. In the 19^th century the village did not have its own seal or arms. Only in 1905 the village council adopted the above arms showing a canting oak tree (chêne is oak).
