Origin/meaning
The arms were officially granted on August 17, 1965.
The two keys are the arms of the Montafon valley, in which the village is situated. The water mill wheel symbolises the former watermill in the Ill, as well as the present hydro-electric power stations.
The halberd is a symbol for the vigilance of the local inhabitants during the Prättigauer War of 1620-1622. It also refers to the local chief Lukas Tschofen, who used a knight in his arms.
Literature: Burmeister, 1975
