Origin/meaning

The arms were officially granted on June 22, 1993.

The lion is taken from the arms of the medieval Dukes of Glanegg, known since the 13^th century. The colours, however, were changed from blue to red, to distinguish the arms from the family arms.

The two oak leaves symbolise the local large oak tree, the Friedeloseiche, a tree around which convicts could get asylum. The three pine branches refer to the local church of Maria Feicht (Fihte-pine tree) in the municipality.
