German | In Blau eine vierblättrige silberne Blume mit goldenem Butzen. |
English | blazon wanted |
Origin/meaning
The arms were officially adopted on February 10, 1928.
The arms are derived from the family arms of the nobles of Hottingen. The Hottingers played a role in Kilchberg from the middle of the 13th century.
The oldest arms of the town show a key for St. Peter, the local patron saint. After the Reformation the Hottingen arms appear and can be found for the first time on the Zurich administrative register of 1548.
