Origin/meaning

The arms were officially granted on January 15, 1973.

The arms are a combination of elements from previous rulers in the region. The points are taken from the arms of the Lords of Weisspriach, who held a large estate in the municipality in the 15^th century. The wing is taken from the arms of the Counts of Ortenburg, as Hermann II, Count of Ortenburg acquired the local castle and estate in 1239.
