Origin/meaning

The arms were officially granted on April 20, 1953.

The arms show a pine tree, a symbol for the importance of forestry for the municipality.

Already in August 1949 the municipality started the procedure to design arms. After couple of years the municipality's board of coat of arms decided to organize a competition and it was held in 20.6.1952. 42 proposals were received and a shortlist of 5 was selected. The above arms were one of these five, the four others are shown below.
